<p>Sony Music’s<strong> Product, Design, Engineering and Global Operations (PDEGO)</strong> team is&nbsp;looking for a <strong>Senior Software Engineer to join our Permissions Platform team</strong> in our&nbsp;King’s Cross London office.</p> <p>As a Senior Engineer, you’ll collaborate with the team lead to shape the technical direction and delivery of products that empower artists and record labels around the&nbsp;world. You’ll combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, working closely&nbsp;with Product, Design, and Engineering partners to turn complex needs into reliable,&nbsp;scalable solutions. You’ll build performant scalable solutions, collaborate with other&nbsp;engineers, and help your team deliver meaningful outcomes for our users.</p> <div class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Container"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Text"> <h2><strong>What you'll do:</strong></h2> <p>● Collaborate on the technical design and delivery of products within a&nbsp;cross-functional team, connecting engineering decisions to user needs and&nbsp;business priorities.<br>● Develop across our technology stack, writing clean, tested, maintainable code&nbsp;and setting a high standard for engineering quality.<br>● Balance scalability, reliability, security, and performance with pragmatic&nbsp;delivery.<br>● Partner closely with Product and Design to understand requirements, assess&nbsp;trade-offs, and break complex initiatives into clear, achievable milestones.<br>● Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews, communicating&nbsp;decisions clearly and building alignment within your team.<br>● Drive improvements to testing, observability, deployment practices, and&nbsp;operational reliability.<br>● Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative culture of continuous&nbsp;learning and technical ownership.</p> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job"><strong>Who you are:</strong></h2> <p>● You bring 8+ years of software engineering experience.<br>● You have a strong track record of building and delivering full-stack web&nbsp;applications; we use TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Python.<br>● You have experience designing microservices and APIs, with a strong&nbsp;understanding of REST, HTTP, OAuth, and related standards.<br>● You bring strong knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and experience building&nbsp;and operating reliable production services.<br>● You understand how to improve application performance, page load times, and&nbsp;reliability.<br>● You champion automated testing, including unit and integration tests, and&nbsp;practical engineering standards that help teams deliver confidently.<br>● You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners, explaining&nbsp;complex ideas and helping teams make informed decisions.<br>● You’re comfortable working in an agile, product-led environment, navigating&nbsp;ambiguity, and balancing longer-term technical goals with immediate priorities.<br>● You enjoy mentoring others and creating an environment where engineers can&nbsp;contribute ideas, take ownership, and grow.</p> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job"><strong>What we give you:</strong></h2> <p><span data-contrast="auto">● A competitive salary and bonus scheme.<br>● Music perks, including free vinyl, gig tickets, live shows in our office, and&nbsp;opportunities to skip the queue at major UK festivals.<br>● An office environment with breathwork, yoga, and Pilates classes; monthly craft&nbsp;sessions, including perfume making, pottery, and sushi rolling; pub quizzes; and&nbsp;album and single launches.<br>● An on-site restaurant for breakfast and lunch, plus on-site baristas across two&nbsp;floors.<br>● Private healthcare and dental cover, with the option to include your family.<br>● 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays and our winter recess.<br>● Regular social activities, including drinks, running clubs, football teams, fantasy&nbsp;football, gigs, and
